Dumoy National High School Successfully Conducts SPTA Election for SY 2026–2027
Dumoy National High School successfully conducted its School Parent-Teacher Association (SPTA) Election for School Year 2026–2027 on June 24, 2026, marking another important step in strengthening the partnership between the school and its stakeholders.
The activity was filled with active participation and enthusiasm from parents, teachers, and school representatives. It reflected the shared commitment of the school community to support programs, projects, and initiatives that will benefit the learners of Dumoy National High School.
Re-elected as SPTA President is Mr. Reynaldo Malimban, who once again gained the trust and confidence of the school community after his commendable leadership during the previous school year. He will be joined by the newly elected officers: Ms. Sidlak Smits as Vice President, Ma’am Erika Cabrera as Secretary, Mrs. Milanie Enato as Treasurer, Mr. Walter Arances as Auditor, Mr. June Malimban as Public Information Officer, and Mrs. Jeslynden Juyo as Business Manager.
The successful conduct of the election was made possible through the guidance and support of the School Head, Sir Renz Angelo D. The Dumoy National High School family proudly welcomes its newly hired Senior High School teachers for School Year 2026–2027. Among the newly welcomed teachers is Ma’am Ginafel Alimbon, who has served as an LSB teacher of Dumoy NHS for the past year. Her dedication, hard work, and sincere service to the learners have made a meaningful impact on the school community. Dumoy NHS is grateful and honored that she is now officially part of the Senior High School teaching force, where she is expected to continue inspiring learners and contributing to their academic growth.
The school also welcomes Sir Alkhaser V. Sappayani, PhD, who previously served as a college professor at Davao Central College. Dumoy National High School was honored by the monitoring visit of Sir Argel C. Pingot, EdD, Education Program Supervisor from the Curriculum Implementation Division of the Schools Division Office of Davao City, on June 18, 2026.
The visit focused on the conduct of Onsite School Monitoring and Technical Assistance for School Year 2026–2027, which aims to provide guidance and support to schools in strengthening curriculum implementation, instructional delivery, and learner-centered practices.
Sir Pingot was warmly welcomed by the dedicated School Head, Sir Renz Angelo D. Calzada, together with the teaching force of Dumoy National High School. Dumoy National High School Participates in the National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill
Dumoy National High School actively joined the conduct of the National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill on June 18, 2026, reaffirming the school’s strong commitment to safety, preparedness, and resilience.
The activity was conducted to strengthen the awareness and readiness of learners, teachers, and school personnel in responding properly before, during, and after an earthquake. Through the drill, the school community practiced the important safety procedure known as “Duck, Cover, and Hold,” followed by orderly evacuation to designated safe areas.
The successful conduct of the drill was made possible through the leadership of the school’s DRRM Coordinator, Sir Kristopher Khan Grande, under the guidance and supervision of the supportive School Head, Sir Renz Angelo D. Calzada. Their coordination ensured that the activity was properly carried out and that learners were guided throughout the process.

It also served as an opportunity to observe the school’s readiness in providing a productive, nurturing, and learner-centered environment as classes officially began under the instructional block.

Dumoy National High School Conducts Parent Orientation for School Year 2026–2027
Dumoy National High School successfully conducted its Parent Orientation on June 11, 2026, bringing together parents and guardians of learners from Grade 7 to Senior High School in a meaningful gathering centered on partnership, guidance, and shared responsibility.
The activity served as an important avenue to strengthen the connection between the school and the home as the new school year begins. It emphasized that education is a collaborative effort, where teachers, parents, and learners work together to ensure academic growth, discipline, and holistic development.
During the orientation, parents were guided on essential matters such as meeting the School Head, advisers, and subject teachers, understanding the student schedule, classroom rules, three-term school calendar, DRRM reminders, grading system, academic writing, and the important role of parents in learning and discipline. The orientation also included the selection of Homeroom Officers and the discussion of homeroom projects.
The successful conduct of the activity reflected the strong partnership between the parents and class advisers. Their active participation, cooperation, and support made the event productive and meaningful for the entire school community.
In addition, Dumoy National High School also conducted its first Flag Retreat of the school year, which helped instill discipline, patriotism, and respect among learners. Dumoy National High School Conducts Back-to-School Assessment for SY 2026–2027
Dumoy National High School successfully conducted its back-to-school assessment for learners from Grade 7 to Senior High School during the opening block of School Year 2026–2027.
The activity included the administration of the Phil-IRI Assessment in English and Filipino and the Rapid Math Assessment (RMA). These assessments aimed to determine the learners’ current literacy and numeracy levels, providing teachers with important baseline data that will guide instruction, intervention, and learning support throughout the school year.
The successful conduct of the assessment was made possible through the dedicated efforts of the school’s teaching force, with the assistance of Reading Coordinator Ma’am Carla Nina C. Nonan, Pagbasa Coordinator Ma’am Joy Mae C. Malinao, and Mathematics Department Head Ma’am Manelyn F. Layson, under the supervision of the supportive School Head, Sir Renz Angelo D. Calzada.
Despite the ground shaking felt that morning, the school calmly and safely continued the conduct of the assessments. Dumoy National High School marked the opening of School Year 2026–2027 with a meaningful first day of school, beginning with the conduct of the first flag ceremony led by the dedicated teachers, advisers, and the School Head, Sir Renz Angelo D. Calzada.
The opening activity gathered learners and school personnel in a spirit of unity, hope, and commitment as the school officially welcomed another academic year. It served as a reminder of the shared responsibility of the school community in creating a safe, supportive, and learner-centered environment.
The event also highlighted the oath-taking of the newly elected SSLG Officers for School Year 2026–2027. As young leaders of the school, the SSLG officers accepted the responsibility of serving their fellow learners and contributing to the improvement of the school community. However, before the classroom orientation could begin, a magnitude 7.8 earthquake struck parts of Southern Philippines. In response, the school prioritized the safety and welfare of all learners and personnel. Classes were suspended, and the school community was reminded to remain alert, calm, and prepared at all times.
Despite the incident, Dumoy National High School expressed gratitude that all school facilities and classrooms remained safe. The school also extended prayers and concern for everyone affected by the earthquake and its impact in other areas.
